Rare 1940s handwoven wool Mexican blanket poncho / jorongo — 100"x50", woven in the traditional banded stripe pattern of Mexican weaving in a warm, heavy wool. A pre-war Mexican textile in the poncho format that has been central to the visual identity of the American Southwest for centuries — a genuinely old, handwoven piece with the weight and warmth of traditional wool that modern reproductions can't replicate.
